A NEW LOOK – Redefining ourselves

With a Redeveloped Queen’s Hall theatre which meets international standards we had to take another look at ourselves. The Queen’s Hall Board no longer needs our help to replace aging stage facilities, or to provide makeshift solutions to meet clients’ needs. We have identified that there is a definite call for quality productions that are affordable and we are putting our efforts in that direction.

Mission Statement
The Patrons of Queen’s Hall is a non-profit organization committed to the presentation of the Performing arts for the benefit of Queen’s Hall and the national theatre community.

A new Logo
The present Queen’s Hall Board have taken on the role of executive producers we feel it is necessary for patrons to distinguish the presentations of the two organizations.
We invited Dexter Lewis (pictured at upper right) a young talented graphic artist who has been designing Spotlight and the promotional material for Patrons productions for the past 5 years to design a new logo. As usual he has come up with the goods. “The new mark carries the arch of the hall representative of the roof/home, making the figures inside more than just people. At once caregivers, audience, altogether family.”

A Web Site for the Patrons of Queen’s Hall
PatronsofQueensHall.com will be our new website. Very soon it will be possible to read current issues of Spotlight on line, obtain information about upcoming productions; and become members of the Patrons of Queen’s Hall.

Holders Season, Holders Hill, St.James – Barbados

Many years ago Patron Christine Millar introduced us to Holders Season in Barbados. They keep us informed of the programme for their annual theatre festival. The dates for the 2004 Holders Season is 9th to 27th March. Here is the timetable for 2004 Season

Winner of the Hamper
Dexter Day is the lucky winner of the fantastic Christmas Liquor Hamper that was raffled at the Patrons Annual Bar B Que on Saturday 27th September and drawn at the meeting of the Directors of the Patrons of Queen’s Hall on Tuesday 13th October 2003. Congratulations to Dexter.

Be a Promotor
The enclosed poster should jog your memory to purchase your tickets for the Mikhail Petukhov Recital but we are also asking our members to help us to promote the performance, we must get the message out there and fill Queen’s Hall. Stick your poster on the fridge door, Pass it on to a neighbour, Put it on the notice board of your super market, Leave it in the Doctor’s office, circulate it in the office.
