Trinidad’s lyric soprano Natalia Dopwell who will
present 2006 Strings with Song at Queen’s Hall from June
23rd through June 25th, 2006.

China, Taiwan, Brazil and South Korea.

Mainly Mozart
This year
the world celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the composer Wolfwang
Amadeus Mozart’s birth on the 27th January 1756 in Salzburg,
Austria. The Marionettes Chorale commemorate this milestone with a
concert on Friday 7th July at 8.15 pm and Saturday 8th July at 7 pm
at the Queen's Hall. The concert includes Mozart’s Mass in C Major,
the Coronation Mass, and excerpts from, The Marriage of Figaro,
one of his most famous and celebrated operas and the popular The
Magic Flute. It is fitting that the programme should include
Haydn’s Te Deum who Mozart considered his ‘dear friend’ and who
told Mozart’s father that Mozart was’ the greatest composer known to
me in person or by name’. Tickets go on sale at the Queen’s Hall Box
Office on Monday 26th June.
Admission $100 reserved seating, $75 unreserved
seating.
Patrons of Queen’s Hall receive a 10% discount.

Celebrating Veronica
Shane Collins sent the following message to Spotlight. “Thank you
all for your patience and kind messages earlier this year. I have
published an area, also a work in progress, on our web site as a
celebration of Veronica's life, her work, and her ideas:
http://www.caribscape.com/veronica/. It’s quite a record of
Veronica’s interests and commitment.
Sophisticated Soul
Denise Williams says Thanks!
“I wish to express my sincere thanks for the invitation to perform
at Queen's Hall this past April. The venue has a gorgeous atmosphere
with excellent acoustics for singing. Besides the professionalism
and precision of your organization, your supreme warmth and
hospitality made my visit to Trinidad a truly unique experience.
Through Joan Pierre, I have donated 25 Sophisticated Soul CDs to
Queen's Hall. This CD includes selections from the program that I
performed in Trinidad as well as a few classics with steel pan
accompaniment. I would very much like to donate a few to your young
'music festival' audience at the concert. I hope you may also find
them useful for your fundraising or other purposes. Please stay in
touch and I do look forward to the opportunity to perform at Queen's
Hall again in the future.” We have had enquiries from music lovers
to purchase CDs of Ms Williams Concert, so please contact Shirley
